MISSION
The Stepping Stone Foundation will aid and assist persons, groups, or communities affected by crisis or disaster as resources allow.
Committment
The Stepping Stone Foundation will transport or cause to be transported all goods collected, to persons, groups, or communities affected by crisis or disaster.
The Stepping Stone Foundation will utilize funds collected for expenses incurred in the collection, storage, transportation, and distributrion of goods and finances to persons, groups, or communities affected by crisis or disasters

The Stepping Stone Foundation is funded by donations, and all time is volunteered. Charitable donations are tax deductible, and are always needed and welcome. The Stepping Stone Foundation returned to theMississippi gulf coast recently. The organization has been to the region 32 times since hurricane Katrina devastated over a hundred miles of shoreline. Since the storm, this area has also been dealing with economic hardships resulting from the oil spill in the gulf last year. Many residents continue to live in third world conditions, and have made temporary shelters their permanent homes. The Stepping Stone continues to support the Lakeshore Baptist church in Lakeshore Mississippi, where over four hundred persons a month receive assistance. www.rebuildlakeshore.com The Stepping Stone Foundation delivered a thousand loaves of bread, Christmas toys, and donated shoes, clothes and household items.

Over the past year members of The Stepping Stone Foundation have responded to Alabama after the tornadoes this past spring, and upstate New York after hurricane Irene past through this summer, in addition to the gulf coast.

Hurricane Irene response in Middleburgh, N.Y.-August 2011
Tornado response in Cullman, Alabama -May 2011

Members of the Stepping Stone Foundation were recently in northern Alabama assisting in the disaster relief effort going on in that region. Stepping Stone volunteers delivered 1000 loaves of bread to the Cullman Church of Christ, in Cullman county Alabama. The Cullman Church of Christ has set up an emergency kitchen and distribution center for residents of the area to receive assistance. Over 655 homes and 87 businesses in the area have been severely damaged by the tornadoes a week ago. In addition it is believed that at least two deaths in the Cullman area are attributed to the recent storms. Many residents of the region continue to be without power, and the national guard is actively securing neighborhoods throughout many Alabama communities. The Stepping Stone Foundation is a local operated disaster relief agency that began operations in 2005 shortly after hurricane Katrina decimated the gulf coast region.
